Acacium Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Cape Town. In this varied role, you'll run and own our Azure hybrid environment by monitoring, maintaining, and supporting all systems, servers, storage, and network infrastructure, gaining exposure to diverse environments and supporting a variety of global solutions.

We're looking for someone with extensive Azure experience and comprehensive knowledge of servers and resources, both physical and virtual. Your ability to hit the ground running is essential as you'll lead various projects throughout the year, evaluating solutions on a company-wide scale and presenting your findings to your management. Every day you will…

• Maintain and support the infrastructure across 2 data centres, proactively preventing incidents
  
• Manage and maintain the backup environment, conducting regular restores to validate backups and baseline restore timings to support BCP/DR planning
• Collaborate with the wider cloud team to implement migrations in line with the agreed approach, project scope, schedule and costings
• Ensure changes to infrastructure are appropriately planned, documented and executed using an approved change control process, ensuring backout plans are documented/tested and post implementation reviews are completed
• Monitor and maintain all patch levels and ensure all zero-day alerts are actioned within 14 days of release
• Work with both our network and information security teams to ensure Acacium’s Azure network, SIEM, IDP, AV are in place, fit for purpose, scale and enable technology growth

To thrive in this role, you must have...

• Extensive, hands on experience within Azure
• VMWare experience 
• Backup experience, preferably within VEEAM
• Excellent customer service skills
